About This Game

Active Matter is a hardcore online first-person shooter set in a collapsing multiverse. Players drop into unstable zones alone or in squads, grab valuable resources, fight rival players and supernatural creatures, and escape before the map collapses. Losing a raid means losing carried gear, so every run is a tense risk-versus-reward decision. It is a paid game with squad voice and text chat.

Negatives

  • •Realistic military gunplay against human players and horror-style creatures makes this intense, mature action
  • •Public lobbies include voice and text chat with strangers, with no parental controls described
  • •Paid Advanced and Deluxe editions include expanded starting arsenals and cosmetics, giving buyers a head start
  • •Losing un-stored weapons and gear on death creates a high-stakes loot-and-loss loop with gambling-like tension
  • •No learning content, building tools or creative modes
  • •it is purely a competitive shooter

Positives

  • •Squad-based raids reward planning, communication and looking out for teammates
  • •Cross-platform progression and input-based matchmaking keep play fairer between controller and mouse players
  • •It is a paid title rather than a free-to-play storefront, so there is no constant in-game sales pressure
  • •No daily login streaks or energy timers were found, so play can happen whenever a family chooses

Age Recommendations

ℹ️Ages 3-5
Not suitable for ages 3-5 due to realistic shooter violence, supernatural horror creatures and open chat with strangers.
ℹ️Ages 6-8
Not suitable for ages 6-8; the combat intensity, gear-loss stakes and unmoderated stranger chat are far beyond this age.
ℹ️Ages 9-12
Not suitable for ages 9-12 given the mature shooter content and open voice and text chat with unknown players.
ℹ️Ages 13-15
Suitable with parental supervision for ages 13-15 only with chat and spending controls in place, due to mature combat and public voice chat.
ℹ️Ages 16-18
Recommended for ages 16-18 who can handle hardcore competitive shooter pressure and unmoderated online voice chat.
