Cuphead is a run-and-gun platformer styled after 1930s cartoons. It’s renowned for its beautiful hand-drawn animation and extremely challenging difficulty. Players (Cuphead and Mugman) fight a series of boss battles, shooting energy from their fingers. The game has cartoon violence – bosses are often spooky or goofy characters, and they explode or transform when defeated (no gore). There are mild references to alcohol and gambling (story involves a casino and “soul contracts”). It’s a test of reflexes and pattern memorization, likely frustrating for younger kids due to difficulty.
