About This Game
Machine Party is a PC party game for two to four players who compete across fifteen short minigames where losing means a grisly on-screen death. Players take on the role of customizable test subjects and race to be the last one standing, using quick reflexes, strategy, and a lot of betrayal. It is played online with people you invite yourself, or in local split-screen co-op.
Score Breakdown
Positive Aspects
Risk Factors
Negatives
- •Frequent and graphic violence: characters are shot, crushed, dismembered, blown up, and worse when they lose a round
- •Dark, dimly-lit industrial aesthetic with a deliberately grim tone and a mature-content warning on the store page
- •No educational content and no official creation, building, or modding tools in the base game
- •Designed around betrayal and chaos more than cooperation, which can lead to frustration between players
- •No formal age rating from ESRB or PEGI, so parents have to rely on the store's own mature-content warning
Positives
- •Short, fast rounds that reward quick reactions, reading opponents, and adjusting to new rules each minigame
- •Supports local split-screen couch co-op for two to four players, so families can play together in one room
- •One-time purchase at a low price with no microtransactions, battle passes, or in-game currency
- •No daily login rewards or timed events that push players to come back every day
- •Online play is invite-based with no public matchmaking and no built-in voice or text chat, which limits contact with strangers
