Shift At Midnight
Bun Muen
About This Game
A horror detective game for one to three players online, set in a remote gas station. Between stocking shelves and cleaning, players check customers' IDs against computer records and watch for impostors. Miss the signs and the shift turns into barricading doors, setting traps and hiding from monsters. The campaign runs thirteen randomly generated nights, with a free endless mode planned.

Positive Aspects
Risk Factors
Negatives
- •Genuinely intense horror: doppelgangers turn into monsters, there are jump scares, and the developers state there is plenty of gore and blood.
- •Players execute suspected impostors on site and then mop blood and bag limbs, which is heavy content for younger players.
- •Proximity voice chat with strangers in online co-op, and players can join public lobbies with no built-in parental controls.
- •Little creative freedom inside the game itself
- •customisation comes from outside mods, and a sense of time pressure runs through every shift.
Positives
- •Strong co-op design: up to three players split duties, compare notes on suspicious customers and cover each other when a shift goes wrong.
- •Checking IDs, cross-referencing records and reading behaviour builds real observation and deduction habits under pressure.
- •Simple one-time purchase with no in-game purchases, loot boxes or paid extras found
- •also included with Xbox Game Pass.
- •No daily login chores, streaks or limited-time events pressuring kids to play every day.
